Observers for Differential Algebraic Equation Models of Power Networks: Jointly Estimating Dynamic and Algebraic States

چکیده
Phasor measurement units (PMUs) have become instrumental in modern power systems for enabling real time, wide-area monitoring and control. Accordingly, many studies investigated efficient robust dynamic state estimation (DSE) methods order to accurately compute the states of generation units. Nonetheless, most them forego dynamic-algebraic nature networks only consider their nonlinear representations. Motivated by lack DSE based on network’s differential-algebraic equations (DAEs), this article develops a novel observer-based framework perform simultaneous algebraic multimachine networks. Specifically, we leverage DAE dynamics network around an operating point combine with PMU-based model capable capturing bus voltages line currents. The proposed $\mathcal {H}_{\infty }$ observer, which requires detectability impulse observability conditions that are satisfied various networks, is designed handle noise, unknown inputs, input sensor failures. results obtained from performing extensive numerical simulations IEEE 9-bus 39-bus showcase effectiveness approach purposes.

Differential-algebraic Dynamic Logic for Differential-algebraic Programs
We generalise dynamic logic to a logic for differential-algebraic programs, i.e., discrete programs augmented with first-order differentialalgebraic formulas as continuous evolution constraints in addition to first-order discrete jump formulas. These programs characterise interacting discrete and continuous dynamics of hybrid systems elegantly and uniformly. For our logic, we introduce a calcul...
متن کاملAlgebraic Traceback for Dynamic Networks
This paper introduces the concept of incremental traceback for determining changes in the trace of a network as it evolves with time. A distributed algorithm, based on the methodology of algebraic traceback developed by Dean et al., is proposed which can completely determine a path of d nodes/routers (d ∈ N) using O(d) marked packets, and subsequently determine the changes in its topology using...
متن کاملPower System Differential-Algebraic Equations
—This document presents an introduction of two commonly used power system differential algebraic equations for studying electromechanical oscillation and transient stability. Two types of generator models are used to formulate the power system model, respectively: the second-order classical model and the fourth-order generator model. An example is provided on the IEEE 9-bus system.
متن کاملRobust Nonpeaking Algebraic Observers
In this paper we propose a new robust scheme of nonpeaking nonlinear observers. The observation strategy is issued from differential algebra where the unmeasured states are given as outputs of a time-varying linear differentiator that guarantees robustness against measurement errors. We show that for a certain initial condition, the n-dimensional differentiator does not exhibit the peaking phen...
متن کامل-Control of Differential-Algebraic-Equation Systems
In this paper control of high index and non-regular linear differential-algebraicequation systems is addressed. Based on a generalization of the bounded real lemma (BRL) to index one systems, all linear output feedback controllers in standard, i.e. non-descriptor, state space form solving the control problem can be characterized via biaffine matrix inequalities (BMIs). In a second step a congru...
